What is the Key to Our Alzheimer's & Dementia Care?

Watching your loved one go through dementia can be very difficult and, at times, devastating. Dementia affects memory, thinking, personality, behavior, and impairs social abilities of your loved one. Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of progressive dementia in seniors. Unfortunately, that means that as your loved one ages, they will progressively require more help with their daily needs. With time, dementia may bring about safety concerns such as causing your loved one to have trouble eating or bathing, display behavior problems, become confused by their surroundings, or be constantly anxious.

Caring for a family member with dementia is extremely challenging and can often be both mentally and emotionally exhausting. Our caregivers have extensive experience in managing challenging behaviours associated with dementia and provide companionship as well as engage in activities to help slow the progress of dementia. We provide services that address the needs of your loved one dealing with Alzheimer’s and dementia:

  • Meal preparation and planning
  • Light housekeeping and laundry
  • Scheduling and managing appointments and meetings
  • Helping with mobility including driving to and from a location or appointment
  • Medication reminders
  • Engaging in games and activities to stimulate the mind
  • Sharing in activities of daily living such as shopping, outings and walks
