Care Assistant

Full Time

Job Description

Vera Home Care is looking for a competent Caregiver to provide care and support for our valuable clients in a professional and compassionate manner. Caregivers provide assistance to people who are sick, injured, mentally or physically disabled, or the elderly and fragile. Caregivers work in client’s home and help their clients to manage activities of daily living and maintain the autonomy of clients.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and companionship
  • Help clients to take prescribed medications
  • Assist clients with personal hygiene
  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparations that clients cannot complete on their own
  • Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside
  • Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
  • Report any unusual incidents
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Qualifications
  • Attention to Detail: Some clients may have specific rules or needs that must be followed with keen attention
  • Interpersonal skills: Caregivers must be sensitive as well as compassionate with clients, and should work in a very personal way with their clients
  • Physical strength: Physical strength is required to meet client’s need and to provide proper care
  • Time management: Time management is an essential skill for caregivers as they are schedule keepers
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a caregiver is an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
  • Up to date immunization record
  • Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
  • Valid Criminal Record Check including the Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Strong ethics
  • High school diploma and equivalent

Care Coordinator

Full Time

Job Description

Vera Home Care is looking for a qualified entry level Human Resources Officer to facilitate new hires for the company. This will include screening, recruiting, interviewing, and placing workers. Human Resources Officer should also act as a staff coordinator ensuring the workflow of the company and maintaining employee records.

Job Responsibilities
  • Recruiting and interviewing potential applicants on experience, skills, and education
  • Performing administrative tasks including scheduling
  • Framing plans for future employee hiring procedures and goals
  • Updating job requirements when needed
  • Contacting applicants’ references
  • Maintaining employee records and paperwork
  • Answering employee questions and addressing employee concerns with company
Qualifications
  • Organized and efficient in daily tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Goal- oriented and manage time efficiently
  • Great “people-person” skills and professional attitude
  • Excellent computer skill, knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Microsoft Office Suite and record keeping
  • General knowledge of employment laws and best practices
Requirements
  • A university degree or college diploma in a field related to human resources management or business management
  • Minimum one year of experience in Human resources field or Customer service field
  • Certification as a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) is an asset

  • Ensure that paper work is updated with regards to client changes in service needs
